About us

Pancreas 1987-1989

Pancreas was founded in 1987 by Marcel Hunecke, Stefan Meier and Sebastian Bötel. Influenced by punk, hard core and melodically orchestrated indie bands, they wanted to take the journey exactly in that direction. As it quickly became clear that they wanted to concentrate on the instruments, they started looking for a singer. Fortunately, the band didn’t opt for the postal worker with a blow-dry hairdo, Hawaiian shirt and a love for the Toten Hosen. for the Toten Hosen, but for Holger Waldschläger. This brought more of a wave influence to the band vocally. This laid – less consciously – the foundation for the band’s musical understanding. Some component never served never served the absolute listening habits of the audience. Small, discreet irritations that protected the band from becoming a cover band of the expected. In addition to various live concerts, a few demos were recorded during this time.
